Charles grew up exploring the Smoky Mountains and the shores of Mobile Bay, and his love for nature never faded. Whether fishing, biking, beekeeping, or simply taking long drives and sitting by the water, he found peace and joy in the world around him. 

To honor his legacy and lifelong love of the outdoors, contributions may be made to the National Park Foundation.
